SSB Personality test and states of mind

SSB is definitely one of the toughest selection procedure. For the record, the rejection ration of SSB is even higher than that of Civils exam !

SSB selection procedure is test the ‘personality’ of the candidate.

Personality of a person is primarily because of his ‘states’ of mind. There are broadly 3 states of mind which the personality reflects.

Subconscious state of mind .
Semi-subconscious state of mind.
Conscious state of mind .
All these state of minds gets unfolded in different tasks which are designed in SSB.

1.Subconscious state of mind .

What ever and how ever you may try, you can never change this state of mind. Its even good not to !

Psychology tests are primarily to test this aspect of you. There are many who try to prepare WAT, TAT etc etc before hand and write in the SSB.

You can (and should) definitely improve your english and writing skills. You should be able to ‘clearly’ imprint the idea you generate on the paper.

But trying to learn ‘how they have to written’ is a wrong thing to do !

[This is my personal opinion.
If you are trying to impersonate and fake your psychology in the test, for the most part you will be spotted and rejected. Even if you make through the selection, for you and the force, both might get effected in a bad way !

This is our country. Lets put our best and showcase ‘ourselves’. If we are not suitable for the force , let the suitable get selected . If you are really patriotic, join some other form of working service for our country. ]

In the description test, just have an idea of what people think of you. Try to cover the most important (which you feel are) first , and then write the rest. Sometimes, you might really find hard to write long paragraphs. So keep practicing of writing.

You should be genuine in the entire selection process. What you write in Psychology test might be read by your interviewing officer. Just to see you are genuine or not !

2. Semi-Subconscious state of mind :

Primarily Personal interviews showcase this aspect. You have to be aware of your own life. You have to be clear in what you say. Each and every word of it !

Just go through the editorials of a week before and know the current happenings in the world. your hobbies (which you will mention in OIR) should be really your hobbies !

What I mean is if your hobby is ‘to play cricket’, know the basics of cricket and the happenings in that.

Personal interviews are always the best way to put your personality. You should not think too much on what has been asked.

Lets say, if your interviewer asks you “Which is your favorite color?” Don’t go for a big lecture on the concepts of colors ! Some of you might have read somewhere that humans and some other animals have color conflict. What is red for us is blue for some other animal.
Just say the color name !

Semi-subconsciously you will be digging your memory and speaking it out. After some time, the process just goes spontaneously.

3. Conscious State of mind :

GTO !

There is nothing to explain here. Group planning demands you to stay in the present.
